Country and Culture Week 2018
This year white learnt about the traditions and cultures of Jamaica. White class learnt what places to see and activities to do if they were to visit Jamaica. They made holiday brochures and posters of famous Jamaican icons such as the exquisite athlete Usain Bolt, the legendary singer Bob Marley and the most influential ballet dancer Hazel Johnston. White class even learnt about the Jamaican pirates and the history of the small Caribbean island. White class had a chance to taste Jamaican cuisine by tasting Jamaican spiced bun, coconut water and plantain. We had so much fun cooking up traditional Jamaican pumpkin soup and had a chance to taste their cooking in their classes picnic! White class also had a chance to use fabric dye and design their own head bands in Jamaican colours and patterns!

Book Week March 2018
White Class had an exciting book week where our theme was Pirates and Explorers. We got to experience a wide range of activities including making pizzas for some very hungry pirates, working in teams to build a new home for a pirate using different materials, writing a newspaper article about a pirate who threatened to steal our teacher and reading some amazing books all about pirates. We extremely enjoyed dress up day, we came as all sorts of interesting and amazing characters. We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures!
White class have been learning to partition 2 digit numbers into tens and ones during their maths lessons. See how hot we are on using diennes to help us partition different numbers!
Division Challenge October 2017
White class had to show their mathematician skills off this month showing how well they could divide. Children worked in pairs to find which numbers could be dividing equally by 2 or 3 and those numbers that couldn’t. White class used a range of equipment and methods to solve the case!
Add, Add, Add!
This month White class have been completing the challenging column method for addition. They all have worked extremely hard to follow the steps and have used different equipment to help them along the way!
Anti-Bullying Week 13th November – 17th November
During this week White class completed a range of activities focusing on the topic ‘all different, all equal’. White class learnt about what it means what makes us different and what to do when they recognise bullying. White class also had the opportunity to be involved in an interactive anti-bulling story told by the story teller Dani. We hope you enjoy our pictures!
