Hello, we are White Class!! We have been settling into our new class, learning about the rules and routines of year 2. We enjoy learning lots of new things and we like it when we have to work with a partner or our team. Our topic this half term is 'Ourselves' so we will be learning about our homes, our bodies, keeping healthy and our local environment. In Art we have been learning about some famous artists and we have used their style of work to create our own portraits using collage and paint.
Our favourite time of the week is golden time because we get to take part in a range of activities!! Take a look...
In Maths we have been learning about numbers to 1000!! We started by making numbers using dienes and comparing them looking at the hundreds, tens and ones. We have also started learning about column addition! We used dienes and pictures to help us solve addition calculations and word problems.
Fire of London
White Class have been learning about the Great Fire of London. As part of this topic we went on an amazing adventure to London to visit famous landmarks such as Monument and St Paul's Cathedral. We visited Pudding Lane where the Great Fire took place back in 1666 and we had a snack by the River Thames. We had a long journey on a bus and train and there was a lot of walking! As you can see some of us had a nap on the train! After a very rainy walk we arrived at the Museum of London and we loved visiting the Fire gallery, exploring the artefacts and pictures. We had so much fun! Take a look.....
World Book Day 7th March 2019
White Class had a fantastic day for World Book day! We all came into school dressed as our favourite book characters! We had a fashion show in the hall to show off our outfits! During the day we learnt about the Rainbow Fish, one of us even dressed up as the Rainbow Fish… Can you spot him?
