Are you looking for a new challenge?  We are seeking to appoint two inspirational and highly motivated class teachers who are willing to work across the Key Stages with energy and enthusiasm to stimulate children to achieve beyond their expectations.  Marks Gate Infant and Junior Schools are due to amalgamate from their current hard federation on 1st September 2019 to form a 3 form entry primary school which is on the border between Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering.  Both schools have received an Ofsted inspection within the last six months and are good with a number of outstanding features.

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Salary:               PO2 (FTE Salary £28,425 to £32,174)

Contract type:   35 hours, term time only

Start date:         1st September 2019 or as soon as possible

Marks Gate Infant and Junior Schools are due to amalgamate from their current hard federation on 1st September 2019 to form a 3-form entry primary school which is on the border between Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering.  Both schools have received a recent Ofsted inspection and are good with a number of outstanding features.  We are now seeking to appoint a DDSL who, whilst working under the direction of the Head Teacher as DSL, will act as the lead professional within the school to:

  • Manage referrals to the local authority children’s social care and to the Channel programme;
  • Liaise with others, specifically the Head Teacher, case managers, other supporting agencies and designated officers at the Local authority for child protection matters; and
  • Undertake training to keep their knowledge up to date and deliver safeguarding and other appropriate training to staff in school. 

 

The successful candidate will:

  • work with a genuine child-centred approach;
  • have a good knowledge of the assessment process for providing early help and statutory intervention;
  • have a working knowledge of how local authorities conduct child protection case conferences;
  • be able to keep detailed accurate secure records of concerns and referrals;
  • understand the requirements of the Prevent duty;
  • be committed to ongoing professional development;
  • be excellent communicators, with a strong commitment to working in partnership with parents, governors and the community;
  • constantly have high expectations of themselves; and
  • continually promote aspirations in our pupils.

HLTA for Spanish and French (pm)/Teaching Assistant (am)

Salary:                Scale 6 (pm) Scale 4 (am)

Contract type:  Term time only

Start date:        1st September 2019 or as soon as possible

We require a unique individual who will be able to work across the Key Stages delivering French and Spanish lessons to our pupils in the afternoon, whilst in the morning working as a Teaching Assistant supporting groups and individuals across a range of classes, through targeted interventions or classroom-based support.  The post holder will be timetabled to deliver specific interventions in English or Mathematics, in the morning, with timetabled lessons in French and Spanish during the afternoon along with French and Spanish After School Clubs to pupils from KS1 and KS2, together with an adults conversation class.
