Visit from Victoria December 2017
In History lessons we have studying families and the difference between our childhood and the experiences of our parents and grandparents. Victoria came to visit us to tell us about her childhood. She was born in 1948 and so she is nearly 70. She brought lots of things for us to look at and we had such a fun and interesting lesson with her. Do you think she looks like anyone we know?......... She is Mrs Marsh's mum!
Verbs December 2017
In our Grammar lesson we learnt about verbs. Verbs are action words so we got busy and tried some out.
Anti Bullying Week Dani came to visit us during Anti Bullying week. We acted out a story and used partner talk to help us develop strategies that will make our school a happy place.
We are learning about 2D shapes in maths. We sorted some shapes into squares, rectangles, triangles and circles. Then we went outside and drew shapes on the playground.
In science we have been learning about the 5 senses. We used our sense of taste to try different fruits. Then in DT lessons we used the fruits we had tasted to make a delicious yoghurt.
In Geography lessons year one are learning about the area around our school. We went on a short walk to identify the landmarks we can see in our local area.
