Valentines Park July 2018

Year One had a fantastic time when we visited Valentines Park. We travelled on the 296 bus and then enjoyed walking through the park where we saw Valentines Mansion and lots of animals like ducks, geese and squirrels. We were very busy when we were there! We have been learning about plants so we explored the Kitchen Garden where they grow lots of edible plants. We used an egg box to collect some interesting items- inside we put something pretty, something from a tree, something fluffy and some other objects too. We identified and drew a deciduous and evergreen tree; there are lots of both in the park! After all that learning we were hungry so we stopped and ate our delicious packed lunches. Finally we played in the outdoor play area where we showed off our climbing skills. We had so much fun and learnt lots too!

In History lessons we have studying families and the difference between our childhood and the experiences of our parents and grandparents. Victoria came to visit us to tell us about her childhood. She was born in 1948 and so she is nearly 70. She brought lots of things for us to look at and we had such a fun and interesting lesson with her. Do you think she looks like anyone we know?......... She is Mrs Marsh's mum!
