Trip to the Vets July 2018
Daisies Class went on a trip to the vet. We went all the way there on the bus and when we arrived, we got off the bus and had to cross the road at the crossing. We waited for the green man to show us that it was safe to cross!
At the vets we were shown equipment that the vets use to help keep our pets safe and healthy. We even got to go in the operating theatre where vets perform operations on our animals.
We met a rabbit and some dogs who were all very friendly and had very soft fur.
What else can you tell us about your trip to the vet? What was your favourite part of the visit and why?
Hainault Forest June 2018
During our ‘Fur and Feathers’ theme, Daisies Class went on a class trip to Hainault Forest. We travelled on the bus and we enjoyed having a picnic outside at lunchtime! Italy are famous for being good at football. We wore the colours of the Italian flag and had a football penalty shoot out.
Bug Hunt June 2018
We have been learning about animals and all about bugs. Daisies Class went on a mini-beast hunt outside. We looked really carefully and found lots of different bugs and insects. Some were in the trees and some were on the ground, some were even flying in the air! Can you find any mini-beasts when you go outside? Can you describe the mini-beasts that you find?
Fire Brigade Visit May 2018
Daisies Class enjoyed a visit from the Fire Service! They even brought their fire engine with them too!
The Fire Officers talked to Daisies Class about the number to call in an emergency if you need the help of the Fire Service. Can you remember the number? That’s right…it’s 999.
The Fire Officers told us about their job and what they do. They help when there are fires and they also help when there are accidents because they have special tools and equipment that can help in car accidents, when people need rescuing or even when cats get stuck in trees!
Finally, we all got to have a turn at using the fire hose!
Would you like to be a Fire Officer when you grow up? Why/why not?
Mad Hair Day in Support of the NSPCC Thursday 26th April 2018
On MAD HAIR day, Daisies Class enjoyed having their hair in all different ways! Some were colourful, some were spikey and some were just…well - totally MAD!! Even the adults joined in. Which mad hairstyles are your favourite and why? How would you do your own mad hair?
Snow Day 2018
Recently we had lots of snow in Marks Gate. The children and teachers in Daisies Class enjoyed going outside to explore the snow! We all wrapped up warmly in our coats, hats, gloves and scarves. We hope the snow comes back for another visit! Can you describe what the snow looked like? Can you talk about what the snow felt like?
Cooking March 2018
Also, during Book Week, Daisies Class made and cooked their own biscuits. They then decorated their biscuits with sweet treats to make them look like one of the three little pigs! How did you make your biscuit? Describe how you decorated your biscuit?
Book Week March 2018
During book week at Marks Gate the children and teachers dressed up as their favourite characters. Who is your favourite book character and why? How many book characters can you spot here in Daisies Class?
Daisies Class have enjoyed a visit to Marks Gate Library! Some of Daisies Class parents came to help us and we all walked to the library together. When we arrived we were very quiet to make sure that we didn’t disturb anybody else who was using the library. Marcus works in the library and he told us how important it is to take care of books. Can you remember some of the ways to take care of books? Daisies Class looked at the children’s books and children with a library card took books home. Do you have a library card? What library books have you borrowed? Finally, we all listened carefully whilst Marcus read us a funny story.
When learning about our topic ‘Head to Toe’, Daisies Class have been using playdough to make their faces and the faces of their friends. First, we had to look carefully at our faces and see what features we have. We then had to use our hands and tools to shape the dough and create our dough faces! How did you make your dough face? Can you describe your face? How is your face the same as your friends and how is it different?
