Our Visit to the Vets
In February Buttercups class went to visit the vets in Chadwell Heath. It was exciting and really informative. We learnt all about the vets and what they do. We learnt how to take care of our pets and what they eat. We had lots of questions to ask too.
The nurse showed us her two dogs, her rabbit and the vet shop cat. She showed us how to brush the dog’s teeth with a special toothbrush and special toothpaste. The toothpaste was chicken flavoured and the dogs really loved it.
We were shown an x-ray and the operating theatre and we had a chance to dress up and watch our adult perform an ‘operation’ on the teddy. We learned that to have a pet we need to be responsible.
Our Visit to the Police Station
In November Marks Gate Police station welcomed Buttercups class to the station. We were all finger printed. We saw lots of the policer officers’ equipment and tried on their hats and body vest, they were really heavy and much too big for us.
While we were outside we held their heavy shields and were allowed to sit in the big police van and listen to the sirens. It was very LOUD!
The policer officers were very friendly and now we all want to be police officers when we grow up.
Pattern and Design
We have been learning that pattern is a repeated design. We created some of our own patterns and designs using coloured pegs and boards.
Book Week 2017
Book week this year was based around traditional tales. Buttercups class all dressed up as our favourite characters from some of the books we read. We all looked Fabulous!
We made porridge together like in the story of Goldilocks and the three bears and we enjoyed eating it YUMMY!
Dani the storyteller came in during book week and she helped act out the story of the Gingerbread man imaginatively. We were part of the story too. It was so much fun.
