Hello we are Brown Class,
This term we are learning about Ourselves . We have been discussing feelings and how to manage them. We have also been learning how to add and subtract 3 digit numbers in maths!
Fire of London
To celebrate our Fire of London topic, Brown and Gold class went on a trip to London. We saw the REAL Pudding Lane with the Monument that is close by. Did you know if you lie the Monument down onto the floor, it would be the exact distance to where the bakery used to be? We also walked onto Millennium Bridge and saw the Shakespeare Globe Theatre which is similar to the buildings in 1666. Finally we walked to the Museum of London to find out some interesting facts!
Votes for School
The Golden Unicorns team were successful in reaching the final of the vote 100 competition to encourage young people to vote. They went to Barking to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and although didn't win, the judges were impressed with their confidence in presenting to such a big audience. They were the youngest team to reach the final and were even featured in the Romford Recorder! Wow!
For World Book Day, Brown class were learning about Foxes in the Snow. We dressed up as our favourite characters and talked about which books they came from. Can you recognise any characters from stories you have read before
For the first half of Spring term, our topic was Famous Faces. We came to school dressed up as famous faces. We had footballers, singers, chefs and many others! We talked about why they were famous and how they became famous.
Christmas Card competition
This year Tom and Leon from Brown class were lucky enough to be finalists for the John Cruddas Christmas card competition! They were invited to go to the special awards ceremony in Dagenham to celebrate being finalists with children from other schools.
