Country & Cultures Week 2018
For Country and Culture week, Brown Class explored the history and people of South Africa. We had an amazing week learning about the Zulu tribe, discussing the types of fruit and food that originates from South Africa as well as trying our hand at cricket, one of the national sports of South Africa. During the week we made our own Zulu warrior shields, musical shakers, African sunset pictures and some delicious Chakalaka (a traditional South African dish). We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures!
Book Week March 2018
Brown Class had a fantastic week where our theme was Pirates and Explorers. We got to experience a wide range of activities including building a new home for a pirate, decorating pizza's, writing a newspaper article about a pirate who threatened to steal our teacher as well as reading some amazing books all about pirates. We loved dress up day, we came as all sorts of interesting and amazing characters. We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures.
In one of our Art lessons we explored the artist Richard Hamilton and some of his most famous portraits. We even attempted our own portraits using images collected from catalogues just like Richard Hamilton did.
In our lessons we have been learning all about the structure of a number, we practised breaking it down into hundreds, tens and ones and making our own two and three digit numbers. We used dienes to help us learn.
We investigated how humans grow and wanted to test whether there was a link between head size and age or height. Here you can see us measuring the size of our partners head.
